Hi Guys.

Just popped in here in the vague hope someone might be able to shine some light on my 54 plate 1.6 Stilo.

Have two problems. First is a running issue. Car runs fine, apart from a slight mis which is noticeable when you accelerate, only a slight moss, not really noticable. BUT the amber engine warning light comes on when you start up and flashes up engine fault.
The car has developed a habit of cutting out occasionally and losing power, not revving over 2500rpm, we've found whilst going up hill.

Secondly is a knocking coming from the front end on slight bumps, have looked at droplinks, their ok and the top mounts seem fine, but havent disassembled for a look inside yet. The rear end has a nasty knock when going over a large bump which sounds like its bottoming out. Its had new springs all round last year and their all good/unbroken!

Im on the point of ordering up a new lamba sensor and a new coil, but any help or fault finding anyone can offer would be appreciated.
Im in Bristol if theres any local owners who fancy a tyre kick or use of my two post lift in return!

Your engine fault sounds like classic coil failure.

The No 1 cause of knocking noises from the front is drop links - I would suggest you replace them anyway, they'e not expensive and there's a how-to Guide on this site.

Unelss there's something actually loose, knocking from the rear tends to be rear bushes. Do a search, this is a topic that comes up regulalry.
