This is a new one on me. If i press the drivers window button to go up then the window go's down. Then i have to turn off the engine and then put the car on Acc to do it back up.
Even then the auto up function doesnt work, you have too do it on the half press. It makes a sound like part of the cable has snapped.

Has anybody come across this before? If so what do i need to do too fix.
Shall i find me a pop rivet tool?

My driver's window is also tempremental. Sometimes when pressed to close it goes down?!? It tends to be worse in bad weather, rain or snow in particular. Sometimes if I press the button again it works as expected and closes fine. More often that not it opens fully and will not close again until the car comes to stop (not a rolling stop but an actual stop).
I presume it's a loose connection as the passenger window is fine but when it was last being serviced I asked the garage to check it out and low and behold they couldn't find a problem - it worked fine!!

Mine has been like it since I got the car (over 3 years now). It's a quirky Stilo I've got so I take it as it is and put up with it!

When it does close does it sound like part of the wire has snapped and is creaking.
Oh no i hope its not rubbing on the window. I just had the windows tinted :bang:

No I can't say I've noticed a noise when it does it, though I generally have my music on.

sounds like the pinch sensors are sending them back down. this happens on mine occasionally but i also have the wind deflectors installed.
what i have done is get a bottle of wd40 and spray it into the runners, i have to do this every couple of months or so especially when its cold but it does the trick. give it a go and only spray in the runner areas otherwise you will never get any residue of your windows.

just round the frame where the glass moves up and down - you dont need to move anything.
all i do on mine is put the little plastic tube on the wd40, wind the window down and then spray the inside of the runners on the front and back, a lot of the time they get tight around the door mirror area.
the black foamy sort of material is actually pretty resilant to light oil such as wd40 but not grease, as long as you get it in the runner using the tube your ok.
also if you find a certian place the window is catching using a flat edge like a chisel (not a sharp one otherwise you could damage the rubber) just gently wedge the part that is catching - but you shouldnt have to do that unless you have wind deflectors on or there is damage to the frame like a bend etc.

 I would love to have taken the door cards off at least at the weekend. I parked my car under a tree and the Parrots shat all over the car and its eaten into the paint so thats going to take most of my time.
I will let you know how i get on, if u get chance to look at the window.
