Well my stilo has lernt a new trick, It keeps on opening the boot all by its self now.
Was tightning up the egr valve last night when i became aware that the boot was clicking and wurring as if you are opening it.

It only opens on pressing the button on the key fob as the button on the handle hasnt worked for some time.

Any ideas please????.

maybe the contacts on the opening handle have a permanent contact now telling the bodycomputer you want to open the boot...
There's also a little microswitch in the boot lock mechanism which tends to get loose after some years - you might check that too.
Also check the wiring loom between the boot lid and the roof - there might be a damaged wire with ground contact.

I've had a similar problem on my MW.
What worked for me was using an old creditcard to get the rubber part around the switch out of the handle.
Then you can remove the rubber, open up the plastic part and spray away with a can of Electrical Contact Cleaner.
After rebuilding the whole thing and gently return it in it's place it works like a charm now.
Opening only when I want it to.
