Ladies and gents.. need some help once again  (on an off note.. if anyone is considering driving to London without prior experience or training: almost had 2 accidents tonight + 2 people jumped under the car <have managed to avoid them though> that’s London for you :bang: half the drivers and all the pedestrians are drunk on a Saturday night.. you don’t want to know what is going down each Friday night )

Rt thanks for reading, as always, sooo onto the problem.. It’s been rather hot in the traffic today.. so kicked on the aircon (works a treat.. though i’ve a constant P1531 fault code logged.. been there since as long as i can remember i.e. since acquisition of the code reader back in 2005) anyhow.. all is nice and cool.. happy days (y) then I get out of traffic and stop at a light.. And sit there thinking why is some idiot revving his/her engine  only to realise it is me  (well my car!!). The engine was at about 3000 rpm when i pushed the clutch in to coast to a stop.. and it stayed at 3000 rmp after stopping.. then, after about 5 seconds, it dropped to 1900.. stayed there for another 5 seconds and went back to normal.. It kept doing that (when stopping in this way) as long as the aircon was on.. i’m baffled?! Any ideas?

thx, i've never re-gassed the system (8 years :ROFLMAO:) that could be an issue indeed. However, according to my docs 1531 is aircon relay - cansome one please confirm and advice (yes re-gas is cheap but i've no cash to waste @ all :( eek)

As clean as it was when the car rolled off the production line! Have cleaned it thoroughly 2 weeks ago with ample amounts of carb cleaner, rugs and a toothbrush to get to the pivot points (besides a dirty TB should affect it with aircon off too?!)

alas, that is why i'm seeking inspiration.. perhaps someone here experienced a similar fault and knows how to fix it (well.. one can hope)

Disconnect the battery for half an hour then reconnect
and do the relearns. Also check the temperature sensor
is sending the correct temp. May be the engine thinks it's
on choke with extra revs for the aircon being on.

P1531 can be a number of things mine shows that with no
gas in the system. Yours shows it with the system running.

John

not done a battery reset for about a year (been using eobd interface) might as well give it a go (though not holding my hopes up as i have done a relearn/reset after cleaning the tb and a relearn before the journey)
