out of curosity - how much are we talking for a full respray of a stilo, say from red to Fiat yellow including rubbing strips....???
Anyone done a respray?

i have a cinq.. much smaller car. was quoted £800, and thats to repsray in the same colour (its faded)

to change colour..on a much bigger car.. eeeep

I would guess at around £1000-£1800 if you want a really top quality job then probably the latter. Just a guess as i got a quote on my old golf once.

dont do it it will devalue it too much colour changes show up on the hpi and people get worrid about why, sell and buy new one in the colour you want

I agree with Dave, it causes far too many possible problems too.

Paul, don't be daft. You'd be better trading it in if you really really want a yellow one. You won't have any change out of £2000. What on earth inspired this?

Just saw a yellow one yesterday and thought, hmmm.

gay... nah!! Its so sunshine bright!! would look so lovely with the fresh cut flowers of spring.

Don't do it! For all the reasons above, plus, a respray is never quite as good as the factory job, might still have some red left over in those hard to reach places

I think you would be looking at a lot more if you wanted it done properly. As I am a bodyshop technician I know that there is a lot of work involved if you wanted the shuts & engine bay done.

I just found out for you, an expensive bodyshop in Brighouse my mate works at would do it for £1800, but he says you can get it a few hundred quid cheaper at the same quality.

I used to own a bodyshop,Im a bit out of date with pricing but..for a proper job,where theres better paint than fiat evr did and theres no showing underbonnet etc youve got to strip the car completely,engine the lot and you wont see change from 3k.For a colour change with the same quality finish(better really)but with underbonnet and under trim staying the original colour youll need about 1800-2k plus extra if all the plastic etc wants colour coding.Any colour change that isnt a full strip respray will devalue the car by so much you might as well just go get another in the colour you want.

i have a m8 who will be doing mine same colour as it is already (broom Yellow) with a 2 part laquer and glitter will look awesome!!! he has quoted me 600-800 depending on how much laquer i want
