Hello.

Strange problem.

Had to change left front main beam, and hence, removed the battery to get some space. Which I've done many times.

Now, the boot will not unlock with the remote control main button. :bang:

It will unlock with the "special" unlock boot button on the remote. But that's not a solution.

So when I go to the car, press the unlock car button, only the 4 doors open - and not the boot.

I can use the key itself though, but that's not a solution either.

So to the real problems:
- This screws up the alarm.
- This screws up the Mrs. as it doesn't work as before.
These two problems do not mix very well.:mad:

So how do I make the boot unlock with the main remote?

Emergency!

Hm. I remember something about a boot indoor lock or somehting, but it doesn't matter if it's on or off. Are there any other menu options? It's dark outside now, and the alarm keeps setting off as I inspect. Don't want to spend the night at the police station.

There are no buttons inside the car that can open the boot?

The battery has been off many times, and for days aswell, but this has never changed, until now...

Are there any other menu options? ..

That's the only one I know of.

If you have CN+, it's: Setup/Vehicle/Independant Trunk Lid Opening.

If you don't have CN+, it's: MODE Button/Key/"Open doors" or "Open all"

Thanks.

Mysterious menu. I haven't got CN, just a standard menu (and ICE), but have never seen any "key" option. But I have some other items than shown in your menu. I will have a look when the day is dawning.

Problem solved... Thank your for your inputs - as they were somewhat correct. It was all in the menu.

I can't recall the exact menu text, but they were like this:

"Indoor boot lock" ON/OFF. When OFF, boot will unlock with the master unlock button. In addition the independant boot unlock button works. When ON, only doors will unlock when the master unlock button is pressed. This menu option works well with the DEFA CAN alarm.

"Driver door lock" ON/OFF. When OFF, all doors and boot will unlock with the master unlock button. In addition the independant boot unlock button works. When ON, only driver's door will unlock when the master unlock button is pressed. This menu option seem to override the "Indoor boot lock", though I'm not sure - didn't test too much. But it totally corrupted the DEFA CAN alarm. Driver's door could be opened, but the alarm was not shut off at all... :bang: This strangely happened after the battery removal, but has never happened before. A little FIAT electrical gremlin perhaps...

So you were right Davren, it was in the menu. But I was kind of worried there. Will have to go to the DEFA dealer to make them re-code the alarm.

M.
