For an aftermarket sat-nav head-unit, but without using CAN as the signal converters are very expensive.

Can't do on a stilo.
You need to buy a CAN to signal converter. Vehicle speed is calculated by the ABS unit, based on the average of two of the wheel speed sensors. It then transmits it over the CAN bus to instrument cluster / radio etc.

When I got my stilo, it had one fitted, for something that had been removed by the previous owner. I threw it away over a year ago. Oops!

the op could back probe the actual sensor.. an electronic converter for that would not be as dear (assuming the HU needs one at all)

The sensor does not put out wheel speed. It puts out something like wheel speed * 50 or however many teeth there on the reluctor ring.

well they are from about £50 on ebay going to about £80 as i noticed so you should have considered keeping it. but the thing is that i've been told by a bloke in the avicx1 forum(pioneer avicx1bt is the HU in the car) that it's them positions on the cable witch is in pic 1 for getting a speed pulse, i'm not sure it might take the abs signal, but i just need to know where to look for it:)
as i just dont want to spend £50 on a plastic box that i dont need...:bang:
well there's not much of an option if there isnt one...
