As many others the air bag light has been a constant feature on the car...4 times into the garage...most repairs due to wiring under the front seat. This time i am told the main airbag unit, located behind the dash needs replacing..I'm in the 3rd year of warranty so not covered- Has anyone else experienced his ?
Additionally there is a big battery drain, the car has been in a fiat garge for two days and its still not identified...any ideas? :bang: :bang:

Hello mate,

As you know I experienced a battery drain problem with my Stilo 1.8 Dynamic. But the problem was that the AA diagnosed a big drain on the battery from an unknown source and advised that Fiat take a look at it.

Fiat looked at it and blamed the battery and to be fair replaced it and there were no further problems.

So sorry mate but I have been of no help at all on this one have I !

Let us know what the outcome is.

cheers Dave Palmer

Take it to another garage,no way should it take 2 days to sort this, assuming the drain is present at the time it is in the workshop.

I am having the same problems with the battery drain and ABS light coming on and have now been told that it is the main computer that is at fault and is going to be replaced.
I have also read this else where on the internet that the main computer seem's to be a weak spot on these vehicle's. I will let yo know if this works for me, having that my Stilo is a 1.9 JTD it may be different for other Stilo's

Just to let you know, as you probably already do!, if the battery is getting flat you will get all sorts of whistles, bells and warning lights going on. When I bought my Abarth (second hand) the battery was nearly flat and it told me just about everything had failed (selespeed, power steering etc etc), plus it sounded like a cuckoo clock chiming the hour. ;)

Have you checked the obvious such as boot light (even interior light) are going off?

Electrics are a bugger, especially it seems on a FIAT.

This has happened to me, 3rd time in the garage and same problem as you. I was told that this IS under the 3rd year fix (airbag system unit) and they are replacing it (as we type). Along with 3 injectors that died too. All under warranty.
