Would love to change them due to finding them quite a rough ride around town.
Can anyone recommend where to purchase some.
Why are they so limited, not many appear to list the Stilo.
I see they have them on the shop for parts web page, are they the same as whats on the motor now.
Cheers

You may have a point there mate, had new springs fitted due to MOT failure(one had cracked at very bottom)
The car seams harsh over bumps in town and feel it should be smoother,I think this also maybe a personal thing as the GOAT (wife ;) ) has never mentioned it.
Dealers like kwik fit wont even quote for the front!!!!!!!!!!

That's a really interesting post.

Would you say the car is riding the same height front and rear. Generally after a front spring change it will appear to ride slightly higher at the front than the rear (depends on model) due to being new springs.

If it sits a fair bit lower at the front then the rear then they may have fitted lowering springs my mistake

This would be very serious since you'd then have a damper/spring imbalance and would likely lose the front end on fast corners if the surface is poor.

I'd get it checked out to be safe.

No they are totally bog standard springs from europarts.
I have noticed that once the car has warmed up the ride seams to improve but I believe thats more down to me personally accepting the ride.

Maybe the old springs had gone soft & saggy, but I agree your experience is surprising - when I had new (Fiat OEM) front springs fitted it felt a little smoother if anything.

Dears like... sorry kwik fit are a bunch of tos... well you know what i mean!

The top mountings have to be lined up correctly with each other and a reference hole in the suspension turret.

Once the shock absorber/spring unit is replaced, it would be advisable to check the tracking, as with all suspension work.

Its only travelling around 10-20 mph I find the problem once the car is on the open road she is fine,is that not when the springs would do most of the work.
Thats why I suspect the shocks.

As I understand it, you only noticed the rough ride after the springs were fitted so does that not make it obvious that the problem is with the springs themselves are perhaps the way they've been fitted.

I don't understand why you think the dampers would suddenly go faulty at the same time as new springs are fitted

I have always felt the car had been harsh at slow speed, the springs have been changed so I have started to think maybe its the shocks! around town the amount of pot holes are a national disgrace !!!!
They are not dear but they seem to be hard to change, not many places will quote, which was the reason I was asking for advise

I see. If it's always been an issue then it can't really be the springs.

www.shop4parts.co.uk is a good choice of suppler but if I was you I'd get the dampers checked out first. Most tyre & brake specialists will do that for free and then you can get some fitting quotes too.

Remember tyres (and tyre pressure) can have a big effect on ride.

only just passed the MOT and my wife never complains about it,so I think its a personal thing.
The shocks are not that expensive but the fronts are not as easy as I expected so will live with it.
If a case of a simple swap I would change them.
