Hi everybody. I'm a new member and not a DIY person in any way. I've had many Fiats over the years, ranging from Panda through to a 2.3 Stilo Abarth, and a Multipla and more recently the great little 1.3 turbo diesel Panda. Now I just have a basic Stilo 1.6 five door, which I like but now have no money.

So I don't go to garages any more. My question if anyone can help is...How do you change the air filter in the petrol Stilo 1.6. Or for that matter, where is it! And if it was never changed, what's the worst thing that could happen.

Many thanks. Les Forbes.

Hi Les, Welcome to the FF.

The air filter element is item 2 in this diagram. I'm not familiar with the 1.6 engine but I suspect it comes out from underneath the car in common with other Stilos. You will need to remove the engine undertray if it's still there.

If the filter gets severely blocked it will starve the engine of the air needed for combustion.

Dave.
