I've recently added cruise control and a new steering wheel to my car (The car doesnt recognise the steering wheel so is flashing the mileage). Ever since I took the battery terminals off, the car has been cutting out at low speeds stating a low oil pressure, yet it's had a recent oil change and there's plenty of oil in the car. Due to the dodgey live terminal, it went a couple days where it wasn't making proper contact with the battery. Now that the branch control unit has been replaced, the live sits on the battery firmly. Can anyone suggest a way to sort this pressure warning out? It doesn't come on when I start the car, only after moving the car for about 5 mins does this start.

Ok, I solved the problem. It was the battery... Next question lol

My mileage is flashing due to putting the new steering wheel on and it doesn't recognise it... That's all fine and dandy, BUT sometimes when I start the car, the mileage doesn't flash? Any ideas of why this might be?

Sounds like it recognises it sometimes, or doesn't 'see' it when its not flashing. Controls still work when its not flashing?

Changing the steering wheel shouldnt make the milage flash. Mine is perfectly fine with an aftermarket one. The only thing that is dodgy is if you try and put the steering wheel on with the engine running. It sends it into a mental judder.

Who would change a steering wheel with the engine running?! Especially when an airbag is involved lol. It would flash as it's a foreign node on the CAN network. What I don't get is why it is ok with it sometimes and other times not

(Bare in mind I changed the steering wheel from one without buttons, to one with buttons)

A steering wheel with audio controls has been fitted and wired in Stu (y)
