Hi, I have just swapped out my Connect Nav+ for a repalcement from a scrapped car.

The new stereo is after a code. All the number written on the unit are:

CE 0681

IMEI 500189440077650

735319233 (This is in big type across the middle of the label)

C141 2G7C0517C

NPY 005I7C

Any help gladly accepted

Cheers

Andy

You cant get the codes for these, the only way to do it is to flash the unit with firmware version 9.8 which will skip the mastercode request. Have a search on here, theres some links for where to get v9.8 and how to flash the device.

There are several ways to get the code for CN+ units.

If it's a new unit, a Fiat dealer can get it from ISR using the registration number of the car it was originaly fitted to. I got one 2 weeks ago using this method for £15 (GBP) but prices vary according to dealer.

If it's a reconditioned unit, Fiat dealers can get the code from Magneti Marelli using a high definition photograph of the barcode label on the unit. Some dealers don't know they can do this (or don't want to) but ther was a service bulletin issued several years ago explaining it. About a year ago, I got 2 using this method for £35 (GBP) each.

Most expensive way is to send the unit to MM in Italy re. this e-mail from MM.

Hello Mr XXXXXXX
For the issue of master code you have mentioned, the CONNECT system on your Fiat Stilo must go to Magneti Marelli laboratory, only in this way MM can found the master code.
The cost is 145 Euro.
You will incur the expense of the transfer to Italy, where as to transfer back will be to our expense.
The payment will made via bank transfer to Magneti Marelli.

Address MM laboratory: Auconel
Viale Kennedy 230

Hmmm, the dealers I spoke to when I did the retrofit didnt want to know. If its a second hand unit, the practicality of getting the registration number is not great as you don't know how many cars the unit was fitted to previous. I would take the option of flashing the unit with v9.8, seems easiest :)

If a replacement unit (new or reconditioned) is fitted by a dealer they are supposed to advise ISR, but that may not always happen. In which case you have to decide whether it's worth taking the risk of maybe getting the wrong code. Perhaps this is why some dealers don't want to know.

Flashing the firmware with v9.8 bypasses the need for a code but you have to re-flash it if you remove and refit the unit. I use my car as a test bed for CN+ units I've repaired so because of the possibility of the flash going wrong and permanently locking the unit out, I prefer to have the correct codes.

i guess this would apply to all Connect Nav units but maybe Dutch Fiat dealers make it less difficult for their customers?
I don't know if all dealers act the same way but my dealer only needed the serial number to order a code card.

Very interesting, I'll remember that for next time I want one. (y)

Makes me wonder even more why Magneti Marelli say in the e-mail above that the only way is to send the CN+ and €145 (EUR) to Italy. (n)

I popped into my local Fiat dealer today, I needed my cars V5 and photocard driving licence. Paid £25, gave them the red the radio came from and within 5 minutes I had the donor cars full security work up including key code, immobiliser codes etc.

Showing them a pic of the donor car as a scrapper on E-Bay listing helped I guess!

Anyway code worked, all is good.

Go back to the dealer and tell them to order the code for you, based on the serial number of the unit. They can do it. If they dont know how, tell them to check with Fiat.
It costs about £40 pounds and they order a new code card from italy, for your exact unit.
I had to be insistant with my local fiat dealer and speak to the manager. Eventially they came back and said they could do it after several attempts to fob me off and say it wasnt possible. It took a couple of weeks, after which they appologised for the delay and then said they would do it for free due to the inconvienience and delay.

Thank you boys, tommorow i will be going back to local fiat dealer and ask the code again. :) Just one question:what could you say about this kind of connection: "the CANBUS A-Line first, after that connect the CANBUS B-Line"?
Shall i have any succes?
