how much should i be paying for a 12k service for an 04 jtd?

i've had quotes so far of £250, £240, £210

if you have aircon should be about £246.92 and if not £212.56 or there or thereabouts!

I only paid £130 ish, but tbh, that was the only garage doing it for that price, and I wasn't too happy with their work.

It was in the North East too, so maybe a little far?

All the other quotes I got were around £250.

James M - Where in the north east did you get your service for £130?was it GMD at Durham. i just had mine done at benfield newcastle and paid £260. was thinking about going to durham for the next one as benfields is 310 and theirs is only 210.

just picked up my stilo which has had it's 12k service, last week i was told by the garage it would be around £240, i came to pay and the bill was £125.00, and they have washed it.

i have had to have a new rear screen, they have put the spoiler back, but without any glue so it's flapping around!

I just got quoted £330 for my 4th service!! Not looking forward to it...only 4k miles to go!!

Yes, it was GMB, the one near the Arnison Centre, its actually a Daewoo (Chevy) dealership, but GMB do all their servicing there (Fiat, Subaru etc.). Cheap, but the service wasn't great, they scratched one of my alloys, forgot to zero the service indicator, stamp the book etc.

But, if the saving is that large...

TBH, I think Benfield are crap too, they are the most local to me, but couldn't be bothered to help when I was buying a car let alone looking for service!

i got stung for the £212 service, then was told tracking needed doing (another £60) anyone else getting told this when they get there stilo serviced (i.e tracking is out and only Fiat can fix it??????????, ridiculous)

they charged you for the tracking? them bastards! its a known issue and you shouldnt of had to pay for that, as I mentioned in the other thread, that was done here and two replacement tyres given under warrenty.

Qwik Fit or similar will do tracking for a lot less.

Well every time I take my car to the garage, I tell them to call me if they going to do any extra work. That way they can't make me pay for something I didn't authorise! As you never know what they may add!

Vimto, they should do that anyway, and a garage should never charge more than 5% above what they estimate
