Hi folks, im quite new to this forum so here goes. I recently bought a fiat stilo abarth selespeed, i've had it since july and have had no problems till now, my gearbox plays up now and then, sometimes after i've started it, it doesnt want to go into any gear at all and stuck in 5th gear when i was driving, its happened three times now and only of a morning when its freezing!

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi to be hounest could be quite a number of things you would be better taking to a fiat garage that has examiner software to see if any errors are logged on the ecu
IIRC it could be wrong oil pressure should be between 40-55 bar but garage would need to set
But you can check the selespeed reservoir (behind the battery)to see if at correct level you will need to remove battery cover to see level marks
It has also been know to be a faulty brake light switch working intermittently
Are you getting any errors flashing on the dash??
But examiner will show up things like clutch sensor, solenoid, pump relay could be something simple as the clutch stop pin which is an easy fix for the garage to set ,so best to have checked out

Pretty sure the oil level is ok and I haven't had any error messages show on the dash, yeah it is probably best to book it in with a fiat specialist, thank you for the help, its much appreciated. (y)

Say, what's the correct distance in mm for the clutch stop pin?
In alfas is 28.5

thanks!

Did you ever manage to find the cause of your issue. It would appear that my car is doing the same sort of thing as yours.

Thanks.
