hi guys, in the next month or so i am looking at getting an exhaust system fitted to my Stilo Abarth, been looking around over the last couple of weeks and have had quotes pushing up to the £400 mark for a custom exhaust from the cat back, havent definately decided on the exit stance yet but im toying with the idea of dual exit :/ any body have any info on good places to go to or any specific manufacturers of exhaust systems i should be looking at for this car? any info at all on this mod would be great :) cheers. Adam

Recently had mine done by Longlife. Charged £170 for cat back and mid-silencer. I didn't need a back box 'cos the Shumi had a stainless one from new.

Incidentally, although I said 'cat back', I had the second (passive) cat removed, so only the cat directly after the manifold remains.

Hi
interesting you had second cat removed will car still pass immisions test just if mine ever goes thanks

Been doing some trying to research into this second cat business, is it the part just before the centre box? On ePER this is included as part of the centre silencer.

Are there any performance gains to be had from removing this cat? I already have a stainless backbox fitted to my abarth, how will the second cat removal affect emissions?

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, I tried searching but have only found people just mentioning it.
Cheers

If you look at my post previous to yours, you'll see I answered it. I had a Longlife stainless system fitted from the flexi coupling back (but excluding the back box which, like yours was already stainless). No performance gains noticed, but a nicely deeper exhaust note. An emissions test showed no adverse effects from removing the cat. Several others on this forum have done the same with no ill effects.

Yea I saw that but didn't know whether you was referring to your Abarth/Schumacher or the 1.6.

I was interested to see if there was any difference in performance from removing it, if not I'll probably just leave it until the centre section needs replacing... then maybe go for straight through! :slayer: lol

'Then' means former car, 'now' means present car...

Seeing as the posts are from January, you could've had a different car 'then' to the car you have 'now', just wanted to doublecheck what car you was referring to.
