What does everyone think about the rain sensor on the stilo? I think mines is either faulty or are they just crap? It takes ages to clear the screen and only does it after there is an awful lot of water on it.

It's odd as I keep needing to turn the switch off and then back to kick start it again. For example, the rain sensor is supposed to be on. Water builds up on the screen and it doesn't clear so I switch it off then on again and it clears right away, weird.

Anyone any thoughts on this?

I can't say I'm particularly impressed with the one on my car either - I thought it would be a turn on and forget thing - I think I fiddle with it more than an ordinary wiper if the truth is known.

I previously had a 3 series with manual wipers, but it automatically switched them to intermittent when you slowed down and stopped - IMHO I think that worked better

you do have to reset them every time you start up the car. But otherwise I think they are fine, if anything they are too sensitive for me at times

Hi,

I had a similar problem with the rain sensor on my Stilo when I first picked it up from the dealer. It would only wipe once the window was completely covered with water. Positively dangerous. They finally tracked it down to the fact that the sensor had delaminated from the glass. Once they arranged for an auto glass company to re-attach it the problem went away. Get them to check how well your sensor is attached to the glass

I think I'll take it in to the dealer for a look then to see if it has become de-laminated. As you say pjp, I fiddle with them non stop as well.

cheers
