I think you will find it under the starter motor iirc on the JTD it works off the phonic wheel on flywheel side..

although the link is punto it was identical to my 12/03 jtd 16v stilo.
note: the sensor is inaccesible! and for the re-aessembly - ouch! it's one thing removing a bolt it's quite another refitting one when you can't see the bolt hole or the locating hole in the mounting bracket which need lined up! total time approx 3hrs. A lot of time was wasted trying to unclip the contact end of the coupling due to not reading the guide thorougly which clearly recommends unbolting the contact housing for better access and then major time waste was trying to refit the unbolted contact housing! hummph! I actually lost the darn bolt when it travelled under gravity along with my 13mm socket directly towards my little face. the socket was easily found where it had rolled along the ground but the bolt? luckily i had one lying around, probably left over after another of my textbook style diy jobs. Oh and the cable routing erm.. well my route is more creative than Fiats!
