Hey all,

I'm looking to find a guide on how to remove (or in some way gain access to the underneath of) the driver's seat on a Stilo.

At the moment the seat won't move forward or back - when you pull the seat adjustment handle up the bar under the car moves but you can hear it clicking as if it's not engaging with whatever it needs to to actually move the seat.

I can't see what exactly it is that it needs to connect with so I can only think that I'd need to remove the seat altogether to get to see what I need to fix.

Can anyone help me with trying to fix this? Can't find anything in the guides section but there may have been a forum post in the past I'm missing...

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

The seat is fixed to the rails / sliders, which are bolted to the frame with 4 hex bolts. Size 8 if I remember correctly.

They might be difficult to get at if the seat is in a non-move situation.

Remember to unclip the connectors under the seat so you don't tear them off when removing the seat.

Have a fondle about under the seat, its surprising what little it takes to jam the seat. I had a small (packing box) fall out of my GPS packaging and disappear under the seat, I thought nothing of it until I couldn't slide the seat forward after tilting it.

A quick unsighted groping season behind/under the seat and hey presto small box removed and seat sliding about like new again.

yeh, bottles are my fav, they go under and you can just see the head poking out, and peoples feet.
1st time it happened i was truely baffed.....
must say on a micra its all boxed in so that cant happen, much better idea lol.
otherwise yeh, its 4 T40 bolts, pretty easy to take out, mechanism is dead simple to inspect aswell....unless of course the seat is all the way back or forward in which case u cant get to front or back bolts

then you need to reach under seat find the bar that goes across to join the two sides and move it down (towards the floor). this is the bit things get caught under and stop it moving. you should find you can slide it back and forward with this pulled down.
good luck
