Right i was driving around the other day listening to my music and thought this would be so much better if this car had my bass tube like the punto had!

As my stilo is the lowest spec it has only got the tape deck but this doesnt bother me as i put my mp3 player into it and now would not ever consider going back to having a cd player.

So my question is what could i do to put my amp and sub onto the standard equipment in the stilo? Is it even possible? Will the stilo's electrics be akward as ive heard?

I dont want to change the standard radio out of the car as with the face plate it looks to plasticy and out of place

Thanks for anyones replies in advance
Bob

hi
ive been looking into adding a factory fit sub
to my 3 door, but only got as far as getting a part number
and quote from fiat, the only trouble is that they don't know
what wires i need to connect it to the head unit!
but have a look at
http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/sub_out.asp
would that give you the output you need?

ps I am new to the forum so sorry if ive posted this wrong!

I had a look at my standard radio that i no longer have in the car and i (not being of any great technical or electrical knowledge) can in no way see how you'd be able to connect a sub and amp up to it.

Personally ive changed the head unit and dont think the fascia looks out of place, ive got the one with the little pocket under where the head unit sits which in my opinion looked better than the ones that have no pocket.

Sorry i cant be much more help, hopefuly someone else can give you some more positive feedback

hi
so that lead ive indicated on the link is a no go then?
I thought that it would plug into the headunit and then, the wire loom
would plug directly into it? thus giving you the white plug as a output
to connect to you amp/sub?
cheers

yes i want to keep the standard head unit
ive got a part number from fiat for the sub that fits the 3 door
(you buy the sub and the fixings to fit it on the left side of the boot
and plug it into the standard headunit, the only other wire needed
as i can see is a live feed)
my car is a 1.6 dynamic spec and i cannot see any wiring or spare plugs
on the wiring loom to use to plug in the sub after fitting
so i rang my local dealer who said that it might be possible to buy a separate
wires just for the factory fit sub but the thing is that nothing is listed on the parts cd
so he said best bet is to ask someone with one fitted to have a look at the
wiring of the sub to see if there are any part numbers tagged onto the wire
and thus then order the wire from fiat.
( sorry for the long post)

Some Amps can take a speaker level input, which could be an option, though the results will not be as good as from a pre out.

Hi,

I have just purchased a Fiat Stilo, which has the basic Radio with Cassette Player. Does anyone know how to attache a basic MP3 player?

I have not yet tried removing the original Cassette Player to see the connections behind it, but was wondering if anyone can advise me before i try pulling it all out.

I read on a another string, that there maybe phono in connections, which might allow me to connect a basic MP3 player using it's headphone jack... is that correct?

Regards,
Sunny

Welcome to the fold sunnys, and well done on using the search button (I'm guessing you used search....either that or you've spent hours trawling through page after page of ancient posts!). Have another search though, this has been covered recently, although from what I remember it's not something that can be done easily, if at all.

Right have a look at the top two products on the above link. I cant guarantee that this will work but the headunit does have the right holes for this type of connection at the back of the headunit. I did try to connect an amp to this as there are three connection in what looks like a third connection block but it didnt work. But for £7/£8 what have you got to loose.

Hi, i only have a cassette player, how do you connect a mp3 player or ipod?

If you want a quick and cheap solution then you can use a cassette adaptor....widely available from Tesco, Maplin, eBay etc for about £7....its basically a false cassette tape that has a wire coming out from it with a headphone jack on the end that you can plug into your phone or MP3 player.

I have a Nokia 6300 and when using this cassette device it also acts as a really good hands free kit...so far everyone says it sounds clearer using this than my bluetooth headset!
