to cut long story short i dont have any $$$$ left to buy new parts or second hand
car has cost me enough already so i have to make do with what i have

basicly i have the 1.2 active stilo and i have fan + fan housing and radiator from the 2.4
i know the radiator will work as i was told on forum

but i want to know if i can use the 2.4 fan without ecu with my 1.2
the 2.4 fan has a different connector but it still has the 2 wires black and red
but it has a ecu or something shown in pics



could i simply lop the connector off and do same with mine then rejoin the 2.4 connector to my wiring as mine has only 2 wires alo red and black

Are you sure the radiator will fit?
You definitely don't want that rad fan ecu in your system. That's for 2.4s and JTD's fan controlling circuits. All the 1.2 needs is a fan at the end and a fan is a fan

Rad fan 2 speed on a 1.2 is controlled directly from the engine ECU. You'll need to make sure you leave the resistor O10 in the circuit as that provides the slower fan speed

where will i locate such a resistor will it be on the 1.2 or the 2.4 housing wiring

You have the O10 resistor somewhere already in your 1.2 system, the thing is to not remove it or throw it away
Have a look in the drawing above, it will be somewhere near there. Or follow the wires back from your existing fan and it won't be far away. It probably won't be on the radiator as it needs to be somewhere cool but just a heads up that you need to keep it in your system
