Probably not..... JTD 115 Stilos have a concentric slave cylinder inside the gearbox bell housing. The gearbox in your link has conventional external cylinder.

May be possible to change it but I suspect you would need to replace the clutch, flywheel and perhaps the crankshaft. Clutch master cylinder may be a different bore for the external and concentric slave cylinders so that may need replacing too.

Keep looking.

Dave.

I buy lots of new Fiat original parts cheap off eBay for my MW JTD. Most of them I don't need now but I buy them for "just in case". Because I'm not fitting them yet, I want to be absolutely sure they are the correct parts so look very carefully and do as much research as I can to confirm suitability.

Recently bought (All genuine Fiat):

Alternator........................ 40...... Fiat price 295
MAF sensor...................... 25...... Fiat price 167
Electric seat switch............ 6....... Fiat price 467
Lower wishbone.................14....... Fiat price 116
Anti roll bar link.................. 1....... Fiat price 18
Wiper motor & linkage.........15....... Fiat price 163
Clutch Kit ...................... .24....... Fiat price 244
Slave cylinder.................. 27....... Fiat price 80
Sliding roof control panel.... 15....... Fiat price 292

It's like a Fiat spares department out in my garage.

Re: Will this gearbox fit?? need quick answer

Anyhoo, i have finally sat down for the day, its been pretty hetic with the stilo deciding not to play this morning. I had set off to work, popped in post office to collect a parcel i missed, came back out and could not get 1st gear at all. So off i set in 2nd, discover i have no 3rd either, 4th is ok but no 5th. I can't push it in at all no matter how much force is applied, there is no grinding at all when doing so.

Decided against driving miles from home and thought ah, i'll get the cinq out, only needs brakes bleeding (new uprated brakes fitted but not bled a while back) - well there lies a whole other story that i won't go into right now, needless to say i been out there most of day and still car-less... Bugger.

Now i had a bit of time to think about it and chat with couple of people (non of which have a stilo btw) and i'm thinking theres probably nothing wrong with the gearbox, this is just a selection issue. My first thought this morning was synchromesh, its been a little bit notchy for a while and had a few but rare grinds when driving enthusiastically.

But considering it was fine, then i stopped, got back in and 1st 3rd and 5th are all gone, clutch is fine going in 2nd and 4th and reverse ie. it works fine when the selector is going one way but not the other. So thinking its a problem with the selector.

To be honest i don't usually mess with the stilo, its usually goes in the garage, tend to play with the cento's and milo the stilo goes in the garage and through the company books.. I'm well tight at the mo (aren't we all) and need to fix it myself.. Don't know anything really about the stilo so... has the selector got any adjustment on it? Looks easy enough to change if not..

Lay some knowledge on me people, where should i go from here?
PS. hope all that makes sense, i'm to tired to read it back
PPS. Thanks Davren, i could've been 80 lighter for no reason there

I think you're probably correct.

There are 3 seperate selector forks attached to 3 seperate selector rods within the gearbox, one for 1st & 2nd, one for 3rd & 4th and one for 5th & rev. The fact that you've lost 1st, 3rd and 5th (one from each selector set and all 'forward facing') suggests the fault is more likely to be outside the gearbox.

Check for play in the ball joints and connectors at each end of the 2 selector cables and for loose fulcrums and levers at the gearbox end and under the gearstick. I think the gearstick end of the cables and lever can only be accessed from under the car.

Dave.

And I thought I was bad at buying spares for the 'just incase'.

Sod's Law dictates that when I do need something, it'll be something I haven't got.

If it's one of those 1.6 injectors that fits a JTD, then yeah, I'd love to buy it.

Dave.

Re: Will this gearbox fit?? need quick answer

Right.. this is my problem..
That little thing there is coming out and getting in the way of the mechanism.

noticed it was sticking out a bit, so pushed with finger and it went straight back in, all gears present, YAY, its not a big problem
So anyhoo, it just pulls straight out and is snapped off half way down.

So what is it for exactly?? nothing seems wobbly or anything without it there
