Hi All,

I've just been getting annoyed at my Stilo.

Been running on three cylinders again.

Last time replacing the coil fixed it.

But this time it didnt.

So I replaced the spark plugs, swapped round the coils and accidently blew a fuse.

Whilst trying to check the engine bay fuses I managed to remove the fuse without its legs.

So... I removed fuse box and dismantled.

Cleaned up the corrosion and replaced one set of contacts with an external fuse holder.

Also checked ECU to Coil connectors wiring with meter. ( all ok )

Next decided to dismantle the ECU and repair.

A few pictures attached showing the cleanup of the battery bay wiring and fuse box dismantled.

Will update as I repair the ECU.

Mark

BTW: If anyone has a naff ECU going spare... I need atleast one VB326 or VB325 ignition chip. ( one of the four things on the right hand side of the ECU picture ), ST have them but min order is 740 of them !!!

At OP. Why did you spray the whole of the fuse box and relays etc in WD40

This is to protect from corrosion. WD40 is very good at putting a thin film to protect from water.

I did initially direct the jet at the holes, but thought may as well cover the fuses and relays as well. It then gets into all the contacts to the fuse box.

I had just completely stripped it down and cleaned it.

I spray every thing with WD40! Protects my Motorcycle very well in the winter.

And it washes off very easily.

Oh, also great stuff for cleaning any connectors, just unplug, spray with WD40 and reconnect.

BTW: Oooo... love the pandas. One of my favorite cars.

Anyways... finally removed the fuel rail and the injectors. :D

May replace all of them if I can stump up the cash.

Had to remove the front plastic bumper and remove the steel bumper bolts so I could get clearance to get T30+Adapter,extension bar and ratchet to undo the fuel rail screws. They are locktited!

Ok , now its getting confusing...

Mine are green band IWP109's. These are 158cc/min injectors.

I've been offered blue band IWP006's for £40 each.

What should they be?

Hello BFHB.

I have a problem with the fuse box in my Stilo 1.6.

I believe it's the fuse box anyhow, i am going to put the D4 connector in a polly bag and take out the fusebox and see if i can keep moisture out of it.

My dashboard is bouncing up and down about 3-4 times a day. all lights up and all dials down.

any tips on remove of the fuse box, is it easy? anything to watch out for. Did WD40 work or should i stick to contact cleaner?

Neill
