Thinking of removeing the climate control from the MW and replacing it with the basic heating control out an active . is it as easy as just swapping them over ? cheers mick

You would need to replace the complete heater/air conditioning unit behind the dash/center console. The flaps in the basic heater are cable operated whereas for the climate control system, they are operated electronicaly by stepper motors.

Dave.

Hmmmmm, got me thinking, how easy would it be to put a climate control into an 'Active Aircon' Stilo  :chin:

Is it CAN operated, needed car to be built with it for it to work

Mick, your only 5min down the road :p

It uses the CAN for signals from the outside air temperature sensor, speedometer signal, windows and sunroof open/closed, windscreen washer activation signal and battery voltage.

You'd be mad to even think of trying it.

Dave.

It closes the air recirculation to outside air flap so you don't get the smell the windscreen washer fluid.

Same for the speedometer signal, it's supposed to close the flap if you're going less than 10 kph so you don't get exhaust fumes from the car in front.
