Morning :)

Does anyone know when did Fiat start using the 1.9MJ engine??

looking at an 06 reg that was first registered in May 2006, it comes up on insurance quote as a 1.9 JTD but it looks like it as MulitJet badge on the back.

I was under the impression that 06 to 07 models all used the MJ engine.

Thanks,
B

dont know when it came out, but on my insurance mine comes up as a JTD Multijet mines on a 06 not sure how that is possible tbh

The most common JTD engine is the 1.9 L (1910 cc) straight-4 found in the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Punto"]Fiat Punto[/ame], Doblò, [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Stilo"]Stilo[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Croma"]Croma[/ame].
The first car that used this engine was [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_156"]Alfa Romeo 156[/ame] in 1997 (105 PS (77 kW; 104 hp)), making it the world's first common-rail Diesel passenger car. In 1999 it was introduced with the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Punto"]Fiat Punto[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Brava"]Fiat Brava[/ame]/[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Bravo"]Fiat Bravo[/ame]/[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Marea"]Fiat Marea[/ame]. The engine block weighs approximately 125 kg (276 lb).

Thanks guys,

Car turned out to indeed be a MulitJet 8v, just coming up at JTD on insurance quote.
Car was a bit a of a dog actually. Had been regularly service by Fiat dealer so the engine was good but the rest of the car really had not been looked after!
