Hi,
I have a problem with the reverse white lights: it doesn't start when I put the gear shift lever into the reverse. The problem it seems that is not from the fuse or the bulbs , because I have check and everything is ok. Can anyone tell me wher is the reverse gear swith? Because I have searched near the gear shift lever and I do not found it.
Thank you!

Best regards,
Vicentiu.

P.S. The car is Fiat Stilo 1.9JTD Coupe

just to give you a bit more detail vicentiu, access is via the front left wheel arch area, you'll need to remove the wheel and wheel arch liner. The switch is located on the gearbox and is easily changed with a spanner. The part is pretty cheap from the dealer as well.
Hope this helps.

Switch is Number 7..:)

Hi,
A few hour ago I've tried to access that swith... I didn't find it. My gear box is a litle different that in the photo. Perhaps the photo is for a different gear box. My engine is 1.9JTD. Could you please send me a diagram with the gear box for my engine?
Thank you!

Vicentiu.

A while ago the same happened to me... 1.6 16v though. :S

Anyway, the rear lights of the 1.6 gear box goes on when you lift the gear ring and just put the gear stick on the right. (No need for the gear to full engage). So i tried to move the gear stick left-right with speed, just to "get rid of the dust" of the switch. I'm not applying that this is the right solution BUT it might save you some time...
Give it a shot. :D

Hi All
Easy job once you find the switch, you will need a 19mm swan neck/ offset ring spanner.
You don’t need to remove anything to get to it but you can’t actually see the reversing light switch.
If you put the car on full right lock and slide under behind the front nearside wheel your at the bulkhead side of the gearbox, look for a single wire coming from above I think it’s in that plastic armour sleeving they use, anyway run your hand down the wire and you will arrive at the switch.
I’m sure it’s the only wire in that area, just be careful not to over tighten the new switch the gearbox is aluminium and is quite soft, it only needs nipping up.
