Hi

I have been attempting to use my aircon on the odd sunny day here in England but when I turn it on it sounds as though air should be coming out but the vents don't let any air out.

Any ideas? It may be the pollen filter but thought I would double check if there could be anything else!

Thanks

If the pollen filter hasnt been changed as far as you know it could well be a blocked pollen filter... may be related to the noise you hear on start-up...

Pollen Filter Out Not Much Change To Air Flow - Any Ideas?

Hi

I have just taken out the pollen filter and air is now coming out of driver footwell but not from windscreen blowers or dash blowers.:bang:

The fan motor seems to be trying to push air through but nothing is coming out. Is there another filter somewhere I should change?

I am going to leave the pollen filter out as ordered new one and not use the fan, will this cause any damage?

I haven't even got to the air conditioning yet!

Thanks

Paul

i had the same problem, took the pollen filter out and it was fine, you can still use the fan, pretty sure it wont do it any harm, it's only there to collect crap.

That's right, the cabin filter is there to collect the crap which you can then take out and clean or replace. Without it the crap soon collects all over the heater and air con matrixes reducing their efficiency and the the air flow there instead, only this time it'll be a bitch to get at and clean (along with a really nice odour of hot crap) :)

If the airflow is never coming out of the upper fascia vents then I'd take the side panel off and check whether the control flaps are actually moving

Still No Air From Vents - Stilo

Hello!

The saga continues, I have gone through the summer with no aircon but as winter kicks in I am going to need heat! I have removed the panel and replaced pollen filter - air comes from the footwell but when the plastic panel is replaced it stops!

Nothing is coming from the middle vents and aircon still doenst blow cold. When on full blow it sounds as though there should be air coming out but nothing comes through. Fan motor seems to work so not sure what this could be!

I am not bothered about aircon moving into winter but heat could be something I can't do without!

Can anyone help?

I wont continue warning you about creating extra threads and next time it will be removed. :(

If you can't be bothered to post to your own thread then what makes you think anyone else will be bothered either

If you want a solution then you must provide the facts

Now merged for the 2nd time.

Hi

I do want to post to own thread but I didn't think that would put it up as a new post.

This site has been very helpful to me so I don't want to be removed! ;(.

I will post to own thread next time.

Thanks and apologies.

Paul

Paul, all you have to do is find your old thread (may have to Search for it if you haven't posted for a long time) and just post a comment on the end.

That keeps everything in one place and more chance someone on here can help you.

Thanks, Argo (y)

when you turn the knob to change the direction of air flow, can you hear it working? could be stuck inbetween settings so it may be blowing air but it dosen't have anywhere to come out of. mine packed up on my previous car ( in the middle of winter!) and was going to cost me £300. i just replaced the car instead of the part lol. trust me it isnt nice driving to work at 5 in the morning and having no heater.

Its one of those electric push button ones in the Stilo.

Hi All
Paul had the same problem with the air stopping when you replace the plastic trim.
After much head scratching I discovered that the fins that deflect the air on the plastic trim actually faced upwards thus the air was directed up under the dash, there is no way to adjust it as it is moulded into the trim.
I took the trim out cut the fins out and glued them in the correct way.
Is yours climate control?

Like how did you do this? Where did you get access? Which of all the flaps was it?

Hi

Yes mine is climate control I think but like you say when I had the trim off I was getting loads of air to my feet from the blower and a bit more than before to the middle vents.

It does sound as though the air is behind the dash! very strange ...

I will take off the trim and try again before cutting the fins off :D

Thanks for all your help on this forum you are Fiat Stilo life savers! :worship:

If you have more golden nuggets, you will save me from being cold this winter!

Cheers

Paul
