I have a Fiat Sillo UK 52 plate 5 door model.

And this morning my rear view mirror popped off from its mounting - or what I thought was its mounting.

I have spent nearly and hour trying to figure out how this thing goes back on.

One of the sensors (light sensor ???) is still on the screen and I think what is that rain sensor is the part attached to the rear view mirror housing...

But no matter what I try it will not clip or slide back on.

Can anyone help who has had this happen to them - I mean it must be designed to come off with all the cables etc... but can I get it back on - NOoooooooooo

:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Hi,

Sorry, must have missed this thread last night! I am not at the car right now [it is in multi-storey], so will need to have a look later on, although I am sure someone will sort you out before then.

Yes, you are right about the light/rain sensors, btw.

This happened to me.

If you look at the part of the mirror that attaches to the windscreen you will see it is a little triangular in shape. The part or bracket you are looking at is seperate from the main mirror and can be removed by sliding it out.

You need to bond the bracket onto the windscreen then slide the mirror onto it. Halfords etc sell kits really very cheaply only a couple of pounds or so, but they only work for a short time and the mirror falls off again. On the advice of my dealer I had it bonded onto the windscreen by a windscreen replacement company. It seems quite secure again. The bonding was about £6, I had spent more on repair kits from Halfords!
