Technical Aircon - Regassed / Not Working

Hi,

Took my '06 Stilo to Kwick Fit for an Aircon regas.

Aircon was ice cold afterwards, but after an hour or so went back to the car and its no longer cold

Could there me a mega leak that let it all out very quickly?

Yes... pays to have a proper check done before re-gassing, if the re-gas was all you asked for they wont refund you. There are a couple of leak risk areas on Stilo, try a Search (y)

Thanks for the feedback.

Only went there as they were cheap, and it worked on the last Stilo I had which oddly ran out of gas at nearly exactly the same age.

Will just enjoy the Sky Roof instead, as thinking of replacing car in a month or so.

I also had the car regassed and their diagnostic kit said the system passed pressure test and they then regassed. However ithas made no impact on the cars ability to chill air. So kwik fit refunded the cost.

Now I'm thinking. Faulty compressor?

There is a clutch mechanism on the compresser and you should be able to see if it clicks in when turned on..get someone to press the button with you having a looksy under the bonnet..

Kingchris, where was it done

Yeovil - Kwick Fit.

But tried the day before in the Exeter branch. But oddly after leaving the car with them for an hour they claimed the machine was not working properly.

But after the machine was not working correctly (Exeter), it was very cold for a few hours then stopped, exactly like the second attempt (Yeovil).

Missed kwick fit in your first post

Sounds like a bad leak.

They're machine should have said there was a leak, and they shouldn't have gasses it.

I'd take it back and say its stopped being cold again, hopefully get yourself a refund as a minumum. (y)
