my 52 reg 1,6 stilo dash has gone mad every light comes on no rpm no speedo and fuel/temp not working, then no e/w,remote c/l and no e/m ,please help :confused::confused::confused:

What state is your battery in? Sometimes spurious faults can be caused by poor battery performance. The plethora of electronic gizmos on the Stilo need a good, healthy battery (the most powerful you can afford).

new battery ,new clocks and lots of earth leads plus 2 coils and 2 injectors all fiat, been to loads of garages and had lots of scans but still not working:confused::confused::confused:

the owner was trying to sell the stilo because of all the faults she was having ,but on the way to the auction it brokedown,we recoverd the car,2 coils and two injectors later it was running.but every light on dash came on and even the beep has now stopped, just get loose connection ,sensor fault and low fuel,no e/w or c/l but time and date works, hope that helps.

That's about as bad a history as it gets :(

Aside from looking for bad contact problems I'd say you need to budget for a new (or refurb) ECU and possibly new Body Computer (from Italy).

Obviously your target is to clear the "no communication to body computer" error so I'd start there.

Have you removed it yet?

i have a snap on modus, clear all code every time, had fuse box and body computer apart clean and refit but sill no joy.new body computer from fiat part coded to chassis number 295 pounds.but it might not sort the problem and if i have the ecu looked at its more than the car is worth:cry::cry::cry:

To be honest matey I'm surprised body computer is only 295 squid. I would have expected a fair bit more.

It might have to be a case of bite the bullet and try it, keeping fingers crossed that it sorts your problem out. As you're getting "no communication to body computer" then it really has to be the best, and daft as it sounds, most cost efficient place to start.
Good luck (y)

In that case it sounds like you need to make a choice between ECU and BC (can't see both being faulty).

Maybe one of our resident Fiat techs can give some advice on which way to go.

although i'm no expert at this - something strikes me as a bit odd.. you are able to interface with BC and reset error codes etc..? And it keeps time... It is also implying that no comms from ECU are received.. Assuming BC can interface with other smart nodes (apart for ecu) then ECU or line from ECU is likely to be faulty.

If BC does not interface with any smart nodes then it itself is likely to be at fault (or wiring to/from).

With all due honesty this sounds like someone was trying to use this stilo to jump start another car and fried everything (or a lightning strike) but then again – i am more likely to be wrong than right

did you try to clean the D4 connector under the fusebox in the engine compartment with a good contact cleaner?
All communication between the ECU and the body computer is transferred through this connector and it is a known weak point of the Stilo....
I think there is a how-to somewhere on this forum , nothing gained-nothing lost....
good luck!

i'd go with yella fella ;) as your car starts.. and engine is controlled by ecu.. clearly it is working.. it is also logical to deduct that if both BC and ECU appear to function (although without much communication or one way from BC to ECU --> immobiliser?) that it is, in fact, a wiring/connection issue..
disconnect everything you find in/under battery fuse box --> spray IPA (contact cleaner not beer) on the pins and in the plugs and reconnect/disconnect each plug a few times (works wonders)

if that don't help.. tester out and check all wiring from to ECU and BC (yes time consuming but a lot cheaper than buying a new BC and ECU only to find it doesn't solve your problem)
