This morning the remote control for locking unlocking the doors (key) suddenly stoped working. It is not the batteries. any suggestions for the cause of it?

thank you in advance for any resonse on the matter.
It's bloody hot down here in Greece! Just a bit of useless info for you!

Have you tried the spare set of keys? If they work and the other set doesn't, are you sure it's not the battery?

It was actually the first thing I did! i kinda hoped that they would work. It s a bummer! In any case I hope it is coverd by the insurance. I am also gonna take it to the garage so that they will fix another problem.
The lever that pulls up to recline the drivers seat has gonne very loose. It is like a spring or something is gone.
Monday it is then!
Thank you Lead for your respose in any case!

The handle on my driver's seat is a bit wobbley too!

I'm also starting to get a whine from the engine bay. It sounds like a fan-belt slipping. It's noticeable at idle and stops when you rev a little. Sometimes it stops when you move the steering wheel. I think it might be the power steering. [:(!]

I hope this isn't a taste of things to come...

I had the belt whistle for a couple of days. Then it dissapeared the way it appeared. Magically! I haven't heard it since. That was a year ago when I bought the car.

Dunno, but I had exactly the same problem with mine about 3 months ago - dealer changed both sets of remote keys under warranty. You need to change both due to their immobiliser programming.

Well, my dealer has already ordered a new set of keys from the factory.he tels me that it might take about 2 weeks for them to get here. ntil then i just have to live with no remote! It is no problem really but it just gets on one's nerves!
What I found out ( and I have the car already a year) is that there is no lock on the co drivers side!:I I really had not noticed that. I guess there was no need to look!!:D
Well, the thing is that if the extra set of keys does not work they will need to replace the central unit. Or something like that. There is a chip/device that controls all the electrics that connect to the car.(not the egine, thats a different one). I hope it doesn't come to this!

Saddly the extra set of keys do not work. It sems that a new body computer needs to be ordered. It is a small thing placed behind the fuse box. An extra week of waiting.
Apparently ordres from Fiat centra is that they try the chepaest sollution first and if that does not work then proceed to the more expensive one. It makes sense considering cut downs in fiat industry, nevertheless is frustrating.:(

Well, just to keep an update on the subject.

The body computer has been ordered and it has arrived. The problems though do not stop there!
They have asked me for the code of the CD player. Apparently this was given to me sometime ago when I picked up the car. Unfortunnatelly it seems that I do not have this little piece of paper. I would rather think that it was never handed to me. I can be sure of that because I tend to keep everything related with the car in a folder at home. Nevermind. I do not think I can persuade them and even if I did it would not be of much use anyway.
What has to be done now is that the dealer has to make a letter to the Factory with all the car details so they can send them the code again. It is something that would have cost me about 30 euros.

So i told the dealer that my radio has some problems anyway (other post) and that it would be a good idea to change the CD player as a whole unit. To my surprise he agreed.

So, in conclusion, i will get a new CD and will not have to pay for the posting of the Code from Italy. :D

And the best part is that i will pay nothing. It will be covered from the warranty.

Do you have windows problems to or just the locking?

Also, my battery of the remote was flat after a year (which IMHO is very quick, my last remote lasted 3 years with it´s original, same yearly mileage). They replaced it off course for 5 euro´s, but after 2 weeks of use (and 4 of non-use) it´s already flat again !![8] Must have been a faulty battery i guess

Well, it's all OK now. after having replaced the Body Computer. As far as i see it, I think that the windows going up are related to the same computer. Go and check it out. But from what I've seen they will try everything else first and if everything fails then tey will go for the B.C. replacemennt.
No comments on the battery though. Must have been faulty.

Apparently they managed today to diagnose the door and clear it up (which it usually did by itself, don´t know for sure if and what they did anything), but... i´m getting a new BC next week all te same. So my mind is eased a bit at least.
