Hi all.
I had the same problem with a lot of you, buying a car at the begining of this year which had an ASR system missing, and some pockets (under co-driver seat and in the back). I got realy ungry with the reseller here in Cyprus. I mananged to get them to install the rear spoiler (FIAT original) for free. After two weeks and not hearing from them, i called and they told me that in order to install the rear spoiler they must change the rear window.
Is this true or they just trying to walk away from the deal? I don't want them to change something that is factory made just for a spoiler.
Please HELP!!!!

ON the bravo HGT the rear spoiler bolts through holes in the rear window.
Your Stilo may not have the holes.
Hence the change of rear window for your new spoiler.

Yeah that's a good idea but they don't have the original FIAT 17'' Alloys (those that come with Abarth) in stock and i don't want to wait for ever[:(!] . I asked for the spoiler because i heard that there was in stock. Probably i won't get anything at all.
Thanks for the help. :)

Hello andrea,
To be honest I have never heard of anything like it. When I ordered the car I asked for the rear spoiler and looked at the price list it didn't look like the price included change of rear window.
So, in that sense they might be trying to avoid the subject.

Fiat Stilo 80 Active, no alloys, no power tuning, love the sky window though!

It's difficult to be 100% as the interior trim is in the way, but it looks like it could well be bolted/screwed through the window, either side of the braking LED. The rest is glued.

Things to ask for:
  • Mats
  • Flaps
  • Extra years warranty
  • Warranty upgrade to inc 'Protection Pack'
  • Free servicing
  • Accessories, e.g. Roof Bars, luggage nets, first aid kit
  • erm...

I realy thank you guys for the alternative solutions suggesting.
At first a looked at the spoiler of the salesman's stilo and it has a screw through the window. He said that he is going to see if he can cut the screw and just gleu it.
Second, where i come from once you give money there is NO chance of getting some back, so money is out of the question (TRIED IT:D).
I'll stick with the solution he suggested and if it can't be done i will suggest one of your solutions.
Thanx

Even I had the ASR + a lot of other items missing from FIAT STILO 1.2 16V and local Malta agent gave me a rear spoler free to compensate. It was just glued on to the rear window.

It could be possible that a factory fitted spoiler bolts throught the factory fitted rear window. So when fixing a spoiler to a window that wasn't originally meant to house a spoiler, they remove any lugs that seat inside the window holes and just glue it in place, maybe. Would have to see the spoiler.

In a magical way if the dealer owes you something he looses you phone number and he doesn't reply his missed calls.
I think i will pay him a surprisingly visit and have a fight over it.:D

Not just Fiat with this one though. Manufacturers generally do not supply painted parts. The extra cost to do that and have different coloured parts available is not worth their while. The cost they would have to pass on would mean that nobody would buy them either.

However, stupid designs that mean that windows need to be drilled or replaced could be avoided!! [:(!]

got to go - Going to go and enjoy the factory fitted spoiler of my Abarth.... ;)

I asked my local FIAT dealer about fitting a rear spoiler they said ok, £120 for the part, £160 to paint it and get the perfect colour match, £280, a lot of money for a spoiler and no mention of a replacement window. Sureley they can supply them painted off the shelf ready to fix. Are you listening FIAT?

And Roja, off you go, go on, go and play with your factory fitted spoiler, hope it flies off at high speed![}:)]
