Over the winter I made a mistake with the skywindow.... I used it.

Its a nice day today so I took the torxs bits and took the blades off.

the rear pair of levers are not lifting as the window tries to slide back... thus hitting the back and cutting out for safety.......

None of the plastic bits I can see appear to be bent or damaged......

Before I strip it back any further does anyone know what the problem is at this point ??

Many thanks
John

Icy air...... I had driven 200 miles with the heater on full blast, with the first blade raised up for some air.

Stopped outside McDonalds for a cup of coffee and some cow

Came back into the car, started the engine and opened the first blade to the raised position, Traveled no more than 1 mile home and tried to shut the blade down.......
No Movement...... I panicked and tried everything.... it opened some.... 1. 2. blades slid back and finally it closed......
Never opened since...... however, it still attempts to slide back but stopps and rocks back into place.

No..... I found the reset option.... I get the 2 click sounds and the blind closes....

Roof is stuck.....

I just used the manual winder with the glass off and the rear arms are not lifting to clear the opening......

Do I strip it back further ?

see photo....... jamming against back seal.... not lifting.... but no plastic appears to be broken.

That's bad luck then :(

Most major sky-roof problems seem to come about by force being used to say slam the front bade down or continuing the use the roof when it obviously needs a good clean.

Can't really offer any more help but post back if you have any luck (y)

I noticed there are levers that can be pressed down (and spring back up with) at the front of the 3 rear blades..... The pair at the front of the rear blade mechanism do not press down..... Does this have anything to do with the lifting ?

This leaver at the front of the rear blade mechanism does not press down.... it does on the other 2 blades ????????

could this be why its not lifting ?

When manually winding the roof I am able to press these down at a certain point by hand, however the roof still locks......

Do any documents exist for fully stripping the roof down ?

Not sure if this helps.

Couple of close-ups of the rear of mine today

That's getting a clean next weekend

This is very close, looking up underneath the last blade, and matches your photo.

Thanks very much for the photo's !... much appreciated ! :slayer::slayer:

It appears that the upright guide I have pointed to is not raising... ?

I am mechanically minded however I simply can't figure out how the mechanics of this sun roof work... So... what raises this upright post/guide as the panels slide back ?

As I said, no visible components appear to be broken and the motor seems to be working

thanks
