Hey all,

I'm looking at getting a new performance back-box for my abarth (hopefully a twin exit jobbie), mainly for cosmetics and sound. Anyone got an recommendations where to buy from in the south?

I have only looked at longlife exhausts so far

Thanks :)

alright mate, i treated myself to a new back box couple of months ago. went to a place called torque exhaust in enfield london, cost me £350. fairly steep but these guys really knew what they were doing, red dot racing also works in the same garage so you could treat yourself to a re-map at the same time. while im on a roll pete from GSR is from that area and your could treat yourself to a induction kit as well.
think im gonna head back there sometime soon they said they could fit a sports cat to my car for £200 which i will take them up on when i get her running happy again.
think that's what you were after...plus abit more ;)

If you're going to do it, I highly recommend changing the centre box and flexi section and removing the second cat on top of changing the back box.

Consider MIJ Performance when you look at this... they quoted about £315 (not including the flexi) to do this for me... I didn't take them up on it as something else came along but otherwise I would have (y)

Sorry im a bit of a noob when it comes to cars! Why do I need to carry out the above if I just wanna change my back box?

Also what does your BMC CDA sound like?!

Thanks :)

Sorry, I didn't explain it very well.

You don't have to replace the rest of it, you can just change the back-box if you want. It's just that if you're going to just spend the money on the back-box (£200 or so?), you'll spend a fair bit of money on an exhaust that may sound good but won't help performance at all. By spending a bit more money and getting an exhaust custom made, which will remove the second cat and give you a free flowing centre and rear boxes, it'll not only sound better but also give you a bit more performance. (y)

The CDA sounds f*cking awesome on the 5 pot... I can't get enough of it :worship: It makes it sound a bit like a v8... but that's just my opinion (y)

Thanks for your answers :)

I've got £400-500 to blow on this so might try and do both!! (Although I have to admit the Abarth is quick enough for me already, but I want more cool engine sounds )

Well, you can't go too far wrong with a decent induction kit like the CDA and a de-catted custom exhaust tuned to your liking... the sound will be addictive, a growl from the engine and a bark from the exhaust. Trust me :slayer:

If you're near London, come to the Ace Cafe on the second thursday of each month, there's usually a Stilo turnout and I'll be there for you to have a listen to what you could have (y)

That I might well do! I live just outside of Gatwick so prob be 1 1/2 hours drive, and a good excuse to take my pride and joy for a spin. :)

alright chriscboy?

i would reccomend this http://www.motorsport-engineering.c...-Rear-Silencer-Stilo-1.6-16v-1.8-16v-FI150110

thats if your car is either a 1.6 petrol or 1.8 petrol version. sound is awesome and gives a really nice burble. as soon as you floor it the noise is pretty loud but sporty. :D plus it fits right on, no need to cut into the bumper which saves alot of time, money and hassle and what have you.(y)

heres some pics...
