I had a funny dream of if I were to have the total control of what my Stilo Abarth should have and look like etc.. this is how it would be :
STILO 3 DOOR
Stilo Schumacher Zender Body Kit
Racing Red
Two Tone Interior Fascia's
Black and Cream Leather Interior
2002 Fiat Stilo Abarth Dash Multi Coloured Display (WHY DID THEY GET RID OF THAT!)
Anthracite ConnectNav+ (like on the current Abarth Selespeed)
The Anthracite Coloured bits aswell..
5 CD CHANGER
IPOD MP3 PLAYER CONNECTED UP
Comfort Pack 1 & 2
Electric Seats
Xenon Headlights / Auto Rain Washers
Auto Dual Climate Control
Sun Roof
Radar Cruise Control
Keyless Entry
All the Airbags possible

THE DIFFERENCE IS I'D HAVE THE 1.9 JTD MULTIJET 150BHP FROM THE ALFA GT WITH THE SELESPEED GEARBOX (TUNED / TWEAKED BY AUTODELTA OF COURSE)

What do you think??

I hope Fiat are listening????

Cos I designed it I should get the first one free !

Sounds nice, not sure about red tho...

You are dead right about the colour display, why the backwards step? Its not the only neat feature the stilo has lost, one thing which springs to mind is the 04 3dr no longer has the courtesy light in the rear, why? Surely this just gives the car LESS showroom appeal.

Also, cutting little bits off here and there is going to discourage current owners from buying a newer model :bang:

@Wolfrace, the Schumacher kit is the abarth kit I'm sure.

I got an colour display, surely, on the 02 model?!

If Nav+ unit off, you can even make it show oil pressure and oil temp on a nice analogue scale!

Who wants a pic? I can sort one out later....

You will get the colour dashboard display on the Selespeed just not on the new manual gearbox models from 04 onwards...I was dissapointed by this when I picked mine up...but I soon forgot it when I turned the key!!!

I don't think so !- they dropped the colour display mid '03 - I've got a October 03 built selespeed without the colour display

Is it? Its just I remember seeing a picture of the red stilo with the stupid name ;) and then I saw a pic of another with an abarth kit and im sure they were different....

Im confused!!!!

EDIT- You're right! Ive just looked at both pics and they are the same, -reminder to self- dont argue about Stilos with Stilo owners

LOL - Thanks Steve! I'd love to have a job at Fiat!!
I must have some Italian blood in me somewhere... :)

EVERY CAR FIAT AND ITS SUBSIDIARYS MAKE ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!
They may not be the best built, they may have their quirks, but they are always the best looking things on the planet (APART FROM THE LADIES OF COURSE!)
They aren't machines ; they are more than that - Machines are things that are lifeless ; souless ; boring pieces of metal bolted together designed to do something we cannot be bothered to do..
ITALIAN CARS ON THE OTHER HAND ; HAVE A SOUL ; ALWAYS FUN TO DRIVE ; LOOK STUNNING DAY AFTER DAY...

The bodykit is a Zender Bodykit and not the Abarth bodykit...

Yup the Colour dashboard display dissapeared from all Stilos!!
:-(

Production Costs I suppose put the end to it..

TWINCAMMS - ER NO!!!!

Jees you guys had me worried then...Please look on the fiat website and you will find this

In addition to the features offered in the Fiat Stilo 3-door Abarth, the Stilo 3-door Abarth Selespeed comes with the following features as standard:
Selespeed transmission
Connect Nav + (radio with CD, GPS, Satellite navigation, 7" colour display screen, voice recognition and integrated GSM phone)
UK map for Sat Nav System
"Comfort Pack" - rain sensitive windscreen wipers, dusk sensors & parking sensors
Cruise control
Leather trimmed steering wheel with radio/Connect/phone controls (11 buttons) and gear lever

The NAV+ was one of the main reasons I bought the selespeed over the manual..

If you configure an Abarth manual you will find the connect nav+ is a £1,400
optional extra ...

You were right Jasper ;)

i have never heard of this stuart. how do you do it.
Ok, the way I get this up on the MFD is to turn off the NAV+ unit as you are driving!

The Trip details then disappear, and you get two nice digital dials - cool :) - they are the same ones that come up when car goes through its start-up sequence....

ok i`m confused now. when you mention the ciloured dashboard display do you mean the nav+ unit or the orange display beetween the speedo and tacho. and stuart when you switch off the nav+ unit where do the dials appear.

Ah, ok - I have 3 displays on the main dash!

On the rev counter, this one displays the time!
On the speedo, this one displays the odometer, plus CITY button ON and headlight level.
Then there is the centre MFD, which can display oil lights :)

So has this now been removed from current Abarths?
