Hi guys,
I just had my Abarth engine revised because I needed to fit a new crankshaft, pistons, conrod, clutch and a Selespeed hydraulic pressure bearing (the unit that compresses the clutch so you can shift).
All is well and the car behaves wonderful again except when I decelerate, the shift from 3rd to 2nd is very jerky.
It seems that the timing is of because when the change is made from 3rd to 2nd the car brakes as if I did an early downshift (brakes on the engine off course). It can even get worse when I'm in a situation where I brake late for a traffic light and the Selespeed goes from 3rd to 2nd and the engine stalls because 2nd gear produces too much resistance for the engine that at that time is getting a fuel intake comparable to idle.
If I remember well it used to switch gears down to have them on standby but it felt like it didn’t engage the clutch when braking hard. It probably did but that’s how smooth it was.
All other gear changes are fine going up and down and even when I do a manual change from 3rd to 2nd it is smooth so I don't think it is anything mechanical.
Can I reset the Selespeed computer? Or do you have other suggestions?
Thanks in advance for you time and suggestions.
Alexandro
