Hi all,
First of all I'd like to say a big thanks to all of you on here as this site has helped me to diagnose all of the problems that I have had so far with my 02 Stilo since I bought it a month ago in January! She's my first car so I love her to bits and as its a 1.2 Active with CN+, I reckon its quite good for a 1st car. ;)

As the thread title says my main problem is with my mic. I have gone through all of the steps in other threads on here and have updated my CN+. Everything works apart from the mic. Do you think that whoever installed it left the mic out? After recording a memo there is no sound on playback but if I tap/ bang the unit whilst recording I can hear tapping or bashing on playback??? Where is the mic supposed to be located and can a dealer put a new one in?

Cheers

The mic should be situated by the interior lights on the headlining.

The fact that you hear noise on playback after tapping the CN+ suggests you may have a loose connection at the back - slide the unit out and check for anything thats come loose.

Ok thanks. I know this sounds stupid but do you mean the lights in the roof? I've already had a good look and I cant see anything at all. Is it visable or do I have to remove the housing that the lights sit in to get to it? :(

Cheers

That did cross my mind, but it could also have been and original owner with more money than sense??

If it is a retro fit then good luck in finding the mics.

Take some pictures of the unit and the light cluster in the headlining and post them - possible easier to point you in the right direction.

the mic should be clearly visible (small grill/group of holes by the light cluster)
Nope, nothing at all :0(

to be honest a 1.2 Active with CN+ sounds like its been retro-fitted

I'll take some pics and whack them up very soon. I am almost 100% sure that its a retro fit as the previous owner used the fact that the car was a one off as his selling point. I've also noticed that I have the CN+ screen without the other screen which is usually below it on the quicker stilos.

When I go into the Nav mode it requests a map CD (which I'm working on) but doesn't say that anything else is wrong. Do you think the fact that I can receive full phone coverage means that the satnav will work?

By this I'm guessing you mean the climate control display??

Phone antenna and Satnav antenna are different items (I believe?!)

Re: Map CD, pm me your address and I'll send you a 'back-up copy' :D

Didn't know about the antenna bit as most phones have satnav's in them so I thought somewhere along the line they'd incorporated the same technology. Oh well.... lol

PM on its way but I already started a thread about it. Who do I email to have it deleted? Btw thanks. (y)

As requested....:p

Easy was to remove the CN+:

1. 2 small screwdrivers
2. slowly push them into the holes about 2" deep
3. while pulling them gently apart, pull bach and the CN+ should slide out
