Hi guys,

Looking to get some new tyres. Premium brands are going to set me back £250+ and best quote i have for some avons is £150+ vat!

Found some tyres on ebay, Kenda Kaisers, reviews on them are good, and, as i do mainly motorway miles i'm not too fused about handling. Only issue i have is load rating. I currently have 215/45/17 91W, the Kumhos are 215/45/17 87W.

The load difference is 615.0kg vs 545.0kg, so my question is - what is the difference?

Would i be ok with a lower load rating or are 91s a must? The Kumhos are £80 fitted from a nice man on a well known auction site.

Sorry if this is a repost, i've had a search and couldnt find anything to really help, hoping you can!

Cheers

I'm pretty sure the tyre load rating is minimum 82 (on standard 15") on an 1.6 engine, so 87 must be fine then. Especially since some Stilos came delivered with 17" Pirelli P7000 - with a load rating of 87, like mine.

M.
