Hey All,

I just washed my car about 2 hrs ago, then moved my car in front of my house. It started snowing so I gave up on the idea of waxing the car and instead do an interior clean which took about 30 mins and during that time I had the radio on.

I have now tried to start the car and when it goes through its check it displayed ESP Failure, then ASR Failure, with the little spanner appearing. When I turn the key to start nothing happens. I tried to start it again a few more times, and it added ABS failure, then Airbag failure!! I also noticed that the clock had reset itself as well.

Now I think I would be bloody unlucky if all the above failed at once, so I am assuming that its some electrics issue.

I drive a 2.4 selespeed abarth.

Any ideas on what I should do next?

Cheers

Chris

sounds like your battery voltage has dropped stilo's dont like this one bit had the same trouble a few weeks ago threw a new battery in (old one 5 years old ) how old is yours ? It may just need a good charge hope this helps :D

I have no idea how old the battery is, only had the car for a month! Would a jump start get things going?

same happened to me - moved the car round the corner, went later to restart and nothing apart from a multitude of warning lights.

AA man came and gave me a boost and suggested a new battery.

He told me that you shouldn't move a car such a short distance from cold as maximum volts are needed to start from cold and not enough time is given to recharge hence the dead battery.

chuck in a new one and all will be fine.

Well i've just had my dad help me jump start the car in torrential snow, and we have got it working again! Took it for a quick spin and whilst it was a bit jumpy pulling away seems to be okay. No more warning lights have appeared since re-starting so will take her out for a longer spin this evening.
