Technical Dashboard dials all dead!

Bump + update:

So having taken it into the mechanics he's suspecting its a faulty cluster. This isn't too bad i suppose, however I don't know whether this is independent of the faults with the interior/exterior lighting.

I've noticed that the window switches appear to be lit (even with the headlights off) and that none of the interior lights or rear lights (apart from the centre brake light, and reverse lights) work.

Can anyone help?

Re: Stilo Disco dashboard

Hey i'm new to all this and REALLY need some advice.

I have an issue with the dashboard - the whole thing is out - no lights - no speedo/petrol guage - NOTHING!
But everyday it comes on/off/on/off and it's really doing my head in.
It makes a strange whirring noise - even when there are no keys in the ignition lol! It's getting really irritating!

I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is? Really don't want to take it to a fiat garage as i just don't have the cash just now.
---------------

I have a Punto MK2 that does that, the flashing(mine does it steadily every 26 seconds ... weird) and the two second whirring. Shall need to sit down and scratch my head.
p.s. did you ever find out what was causing it, please?

Very common problem with stilo,my 2004 model active sport, has just done same thing, complete shutdown of dash, however there are plenty of businesses that repair the old dash, simply remove from car, post away and get it repaired and guaranteed within couple of days.. also not sure about second hand parts, due to different fitting, therefore just get old one repaired..

A second-hand part will be a) Unknown quantity and b) Need a proxy alignment.

I lost my original clocks (or rather Royal Mail lost my original clocks) so I bought some second-hand clocks. They lasted about 6 weeks before they went on the wonk.. so I had Yellowstilo (up there ^^ ) fix them and they've been "touch wood" fine since.

I still need to get them proxy-aligned .. the mileage readout (which Yellowstilo adjusted to my original mileage) on the odometer, flashes if it's not aligned.

If you're anywhere near Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, I should be able to do the proxy alignment for you.

Good lad! I'm in Bristol these days but the beast Gerrard has developed an EML light and is burning up the diesel like it comes out of the ground or something.

I've ordered a cheapo code reader to see what's going on in there... but if I can't make sense of it, I might have to wander over to Grimsby so you can give it a looksee with the proper kit.. :)

Ok I came across this message board and thread as I have the same problem. All was fine with my 2004 Stilo JTD until last week when my dash display died. Headlights and brake lights working fine, engine starts ok but driver airbag warning light is flashing and all dials (fuel guage, rev counter etc) are dead. Garage thought they'd fixed but problem is back. So am I right in saying it's a faulty cluster and a replacement will definitely sort?
