My instument cluster died completely last week. After removing it and making sure it was all connected properly it worked fine for 24hrs but now it keeps turning itself off and on repeatedly.
A replacement plus labour is expensive but I wonder if the cluster maybe ok and its a new connection that is needed? I have seen other threads but I am still in the dark a little, can anybody help as I am broke and cannot afford this problem at the moment. My stilo is a 1.2ac 2003:worship:

Well, as it worked for a while when you refitted it, it might just be a poor connection at the rear of the instrument cluster. I'd inspect the connectors carefully for lack of spring contact and use contact cleaner sparingly on the connectors

look on the circuit board of the cluster with a magnifier glass for corrosion , especially near the big microprocessor.
Clean with a toothbrush and some contact cleaner and let it dry.
I repaired a cluster with a similar fault that way.
good luck!

To be honest it sounds much more likely due to a cluster fault rather than the connector, (only because I have changed a few), like yello says, check the circuit board and check for dry joints, good luck.

Sorry to say this but it is more likly to be the cluster, ive had this problem and cost £300 for a replacement from the dealer, touch wood been ok since over 12months, does sound to be a recurring problem with Fiat and dodgey electrics, Strange as ive heard a lot of 2003 models with same problems(n)
