i just today got my 1st stilo and need some help


i was putting my sim car in and now the car wont start can someone please help has i dont have a owner handbook



please help me


the car is a fiat stilo 2.4 abarth 02 reg

OK ok, no need to double post.

I will get this moved to the right section of the forum, then we can try and get it solved.

I really don't see how putting a SIM card in and the car not starting is related though

Does the engine crank over?

If not then press HARD on the brake pedal, the selespeed needs a brake signal to crank. If not do you get any warning lights on?

Ah, well spotted - I never read the post fully, only the 'bump' of it.

When I first bought my selespeed, I went to the local garage to get some fuel. As I got back in, I had the same scenerio 'OMG, it won't start....' - then remembered it needed the foot on the brake pedal

i have just tried pressing down on the brake and nothing

no warning lights and electrics seem to work

No cranking?

What gear are you in? Look on the display in the centre of the dials.

the car is in neutral



what does cranking ??

does the engine turn over when you turn the key?

no the car dont turn over

Do you have brake lights that work?

Can you turn the key into the starter position?

Has your clock reset?

Yes to all and date has changed to jan

It could be your battery is flat, a battery lead is loose or an earth cable is loose. The date resetting indicates the battery level has got too low. Are you in the AA or RAC or another breakdown service?

yes im in the RAC, are the earth cables under the seat as i did move the drivers seat

No under the bonnet.

thank god for that, can the rac fix it, i need a manual or handbook, thx for being great

Should just be a case of jump starting it and seeing if its a battery, discharge or charging issue.
