Hi peeps, im pretty new to this forum malarky and to modifying cars, i've just got an 02 1.6 dynamic, which although hardly glacial isn't that fast - i know there are lots of JTD owners on here waxing lyrical about how they can chip/tune thier cars, are there any options for the 1.6, other than getting someone to push?

Also i was thinking about getting an induction kit - apart from the worlds most cramped engine bay - 5* to fiat on this one, will this do a muchfor performance, or will it just make my car loud (which I dont want)?

When the induction kit is fitted, it will only be noisy when you floor the throttle, which I doubt you do all the time. You'll feel the difference on a 1.6, maybe a little more power but mostly an increase in engine response.

Cant help about chipping the 1.6 engine tho.......

i placed a raid hp induction kit and a sebring rear mufler and gained 8hp (dynojet)

now i ve a turbo kit on (unofficial) and got 178ps and 24,1 kgr... :D

1,6lt

This is the problem, the 1.6 is the most untuneable engine in the Stilo range, unless of course you fancy spending a couple of grand!

I have a K & N on mine and it has made a minor difference, put it like this, I noticed it on the first day, but now it feels normal again.

Alfanige looked at buying the software to remap the 1.6 engine, he advertised on here and needed 12 takers in order to buy the kit, only two were interested! So if you want your 1.6 sorting, let Nige know, let's get twelve of us to email him and encourage him (make him an offer he can't refuse) to sort it out. When he tried to sell his product, he said he would charge £330 (10% discount to Club Stilo members) and your 1.6 model would gain 12bhp, a cheap and worthy mod I think!

So what are we waiting for???

TC.

330 isnt too bad, although looking at the performance all together, im thinking maybe i should bin the 1.6 dynamic and get the 115 jtd instead.....hrm...

How much you spent so far then Face?

3800E incl. gauges (halmeter, barmeter, oiltemp, turbo temp.) and turbo timer.., garret t25, intercooler, pipes, ecu paralel, blowoff valve and oil freeg..

add a 600E 2 that 4 replacing the whole exhaust system...

Problem is the engine, though not small, Is pulling quite a big car. I would say unless you want to spend a lot eg. turbo conversion, throttle bodies etc there isn't a lot you can do to make the car fast.
You can add an induction kit, de-cat the exhaust, chip the ecu and maybe add sports cams but even after all that you would be looking at a max of a 25-30bhp increase, which isnt that bad really i suppose.

Huff. What kind of messed up world is it when you can chip an oil burner and not a petrol car. *Sulks...

I think ill get the induction kit, then maybe think about chipping if i can ever find somewhere that will do it, that's only gonna be 5-600 - if that doesnt work, then chug chug.....taxi anyone.. ;)
