:bang: I have a 1.9 JTD Stilo with flywheel trouble which the RAC is due to a manufacturing fault. Is this common?

Re: JTD Flywheel

I've got a 2002 Stilo 115 Jtd, was about 12 months old when I got it, took it back dealer after a couple of months because car would pull away from road junction then sort of loose power/die a bit before picking up and pulling away again, dealer fitted a 'modified' flywheel said there was a bulletin from Fiat about it, engine transformed after this, a lot smoother, no loss of power after pulling away and much happier to rev thoughout range. think flywheel is one of those 'Dual Mass' jobs(y)

Determining Dual Mass Flywheel - JTD

Hi there,

I need to change the clutch as it's starting to slip under load in 5th...

I know there's a dual mass version and a non-dual mass version. To be honest it feels as though it is dual mass - heavy on power and release in 1st is extremely smooth, something I'd expect... But is there any way to definitely determine what it is - because I don't want to buy the wrong version of the clutch.
It's a 2002 (02) 3 door 1.9 JTD (115)
P.S. If anyone knows where to just get the plate, not both the plate and cover kit, I'd gratefully appreciate your help!

According to Valeo they dont do a 4 piece clutch kit for the Stilo thats a Solid flywheel, pressure plate, clutch plate and thrust bearing. The flywheel is dual mass.I doubt you will find anyone selling the clutch plate on its own if you found one it would probably be a total waste of time taking the gearbox off and only replacing the clutch plate.
