Yes; but you lose a fair few useful functions - auto volume/speed correction to name just one.

Needs to sound a lot better to be worthwhile and if you haven't also changed the speakers then that's not very likely :(

Just had the standard cd player taken out and a new flashy one from halfords put it.

I's a black stereo and i think it looks better than the factory fitted CD.

What do people think?

Post a pic of yr stereo and then we can decide better...

Leave your factory, whatever you got with your car, and add this awesome device:

It works fabulous, and keeps all nice functions of factory audio, also doesn't destroy the looks of the Stilo interior.

I went on their website and the fiat alpha ones don't seem to do the stilo.

my sister has just bought a stilo with the tape unit in and is interrested in the ipod one. Will that one fit/work?

I got one with SD card and USB, not for Ipod, it works beautiful! Although, it has Line-in for Ipod, but this device I have cannot control the Ipod, just transfer sound to the car audio.

to be honest i'd change the head unit, aftermarket ones are much more reliable and offer lots more features

but... if your looking to keep it get something like the parrot mk6100. its a bluetooth kit which uses bluetooth audio streaming to control the ipod wirelessly through a small remote and plays through the stereo, very impressed with this unit and will work in stilo no problem as it is independant

I personally dont mind the After-market fascias, But that doesnt really concern me becase my HU is in the upper glove compartment and will be gone altogether within the next couple of weeks hopefully:slayer:
