I've taken the plunge and have got a more grown up car on the way (5dr stilo abarth 2003 model) and this is the first of many many questions I'm sure.

How much is it to retrofit the cd changer in the glovebox if I were to get it done at a fiat dealer? And will that get rid of the warmy up/cooly down bit as the only way I managed to persuade my missus into having this is the fact that she can warm baby milk up in that section!!

I need this because I occasionally do long journeys which is when you most need music but will need to use the sat nav at the same time! Which is silly that you can't.

If not is it easy enough to get a cd changer put in the boot or something? or is it a real pain connecting it altogether?

Anyway really really good forum here with no bitching going on like other forums. :D :D :D

thanks
Andrew

Hi,

If you search the forum for CD Changer you will see lots of posts on this topic.

I have fitted a CD changer after purchase and the following applies:

1) Only the Fiat / Blaupunkt changer will work, the Blaupunkt version does not, I know I tried.
2) It will cost around £250 from your fiat dealer, ask for discount I got 15% so there must be room to negotiate.
3) It's easy to fit, you will buy the changer, the cable, and the glovebox mount which replaces the original heating / cooling one.
4) Once fitted there is just about enough room to still heat / cool 1 can of drink or a Mars bar.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Had my CD changer put in for £230 fitted. very nice it is too. It does reduce the size of the cooler/warmer to the size of coke a can though. If you get the 12v power point in the boot as I have you can put a bottle warmer in there to keep the missus happy.

Cheers for all the answers guys - I did do a search but didn't come up with much!

I might get 1 fitted then cos at those prices they seem pretty reasonable!

Ta
