So after reading some of the great posts on here I think I've managed to fix my wipers...

Everything is turning as it should but when I come to attach the wiper arms back on they wont wipe.

They seem to be trying to move and everything sounds as it should but it doesn't matter if the nuts are on loose or super tight they wont wipe.

The moment I remove the arms everything is turning as it should be.

I'm sure I'm putting them on right..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried it with just one arm as then it will be very obvious if the spindle of the other is moving?

It is rather an odd fit and needs to be quite tight.

How strange?, they now work. Thanks Argonought!

Before the fix (which I couldn't have done without you guys) the linkage on the passengers side had come loose. I popped it back into place, cable tied and sprayed the contacts for good measure.

Everything seems fine now but I'm a little worried that just before I fixed them the wiper which hadn't worked loose jammed mid wipe on two occasions.

Is it worth opening up the wiper motor and cleaning out any excess grease (which I read on here may help) or do you think the jamming was a one of?

Kind regards
Paul

Personally, I'd assume they're OK as it's a fair bit of work getting that scuttle cover off each time (yet to have any trouble with mine :spin:).

....but if not then follow Deckchair's cleaning guide (which it sounds like you've found) (y)

Thats great to hear, I was hoping for that... :woot:

I didn't have too much trouble with the scuttle cover, I kind of left the cover half on while I worked by standing/wedging a screwdriver in place.

So it seems to be in place, (I hope). Just out of curiosity what would be the implications of an ill fitted cover?

I read somewhere here that someone had seen loads of stilos with scuttle covers not fitted right.
