the Stilo was running 10-40w at first

had a look at castrol site and for ulitimate protection it says 0w-30 for the 1.6 so in it went...

only question i have is every once in a while i get a low oil pressure warning at startup if the engine is already hot.. this i put down to the viscosity difference, ie it being thinner when hot... it wont be detrimental to the engine would it??

just thought i would ask :)

sorry i meant 0w-30

Should be OK so long as the oil light never comes on whilst idling and the engine doesn't actually sound noisy on a start.

See how it goes but if it doesn't settle down then might be worth going back to a 5W-40 on the next change.
