Stilo 5 door 1.9jtd drivers seat belt

Hi

Just a quick one.

Does anyone know if a 3 door drivers seat belt will fit in a 5 door Stilo. If not why?

Cheers

Kev

I don't know for sure, but I'd say no. Often 3 door seatbelts are longer due to the fact that the b-pillar it comes from is mounted further back, and it may also have different mounting points for the reel and pretensioner.

Not 100% sure so would wait for someone in the know to pop along

Jon.

Yes, a 3 door has a longer belt. What is the problem with it?
If the belt itself is good, you can usually take it out of the tensioner/ recoil mechanism and swap it over. The tensioner/ recoil will be the same, just with a different belt in it.

Re: Stilo 5 door 1.9jtd drivers seat belt

ok thanks for the reply.

I will get it tomorrow to try it. My thoughts was it would just be longer and not cause a problem. can't change it over, the old belt is split.

Make sure your belt does not get caught in between the seat and adjuster, it splits.

Cheers

In theiory if the mounting points/brackets are all the same then a 3-door belt will fit into a 5-door but not a 5-door in a 3-door.

Often the mounting point on the seat end of the belt is different between 3 and 5 door belts, but I am not sure on a stilo.

You can't beat fitting the correct parts.

I had plenty of problems with my daughter's old Sei before I realized some clown had fitted too short a belt. Would have helped if they'd also put a warning on the dash "Suitable for very slim passengers only"

How it got past an MoT I'll never know

Re: Stilo 5 door 1.9jtd drivers seat belt

i might need a new drivers belt for my 3 door soon as its freying a little bit and got a warning at MOT time.

any suggestions to stop the freying now?

i was going to cut off the freys or melt them back.

before anyone starts, its only a slight freying
