Re: BMC CDA vs GSR Kit

The BMC kit was the only other one I was really considering. It's marginally cheaper than the GSR, but hearing so many people praise the GSR makes me turn towards that. After the suspension, it's the next thing on my list. Or maybe the exhaust, I'll decide nearer the time, either way the sound RGZ the Stilo produces shall be changed for the better :D

Re: BMC CDA vs GSR Kit

the BMC kit isnt really a kit, you dont get no custom made pipe, just a crap bit of foil pipe

Like with the K&N kit? I've seen something similar on a 1.1 Pug 106's.

I guess the only thing that worries me about the GSR kit is the fitting, but then it'll be a learning experience and well worth it :)

non of em are very difficult, but well worth it(y)

Hi Red,

Have you got both the induction kit and the remap on yours, or just the remap? If you've only got just the induction kit, do you get the engine warning light still or is this sorted now with the new kit which slows air sdown around the MAF?

Sorry for all of the questions :D

Interested to know this too - kicking myself for getting CarCrazy to remove induction kit before I bought the car, but just didn't like the way the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. :bang:

Sorry, probably got the wrong end of the stick on that, judging by your reaction... if anyone should know, it should be you! (y)

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that the issue with having the GSR induction kit only on the 2.4 (no remap) was that the engine warning light came on and that you guys rectified it by slowing the air down around the air speed sensor... yes? no? Or am I being a muppet? :D

No, it is not you being the muppet. It is a number of people on the stilosport forum that are muppets and try to tell the world all the knowledge of Stilo tuning when they do not know anything worth mentioning.

This is why I had to form performancestilo.

The reduction speeds up the flow. The reason for the increase on the original kit was to improve airflow around the badly shaped flowmeter. But the software specialists have not been able to work round this. Result was that in a number of cases the engine warning light came on. Virtually all of them needed days to weeks for it to happen. The reason why the light came on was that the engine was running slightly lean at 1300rpm.

The christmas tree exaggeration that was created, stems from an inmature max power intelligence level stilosport member who is arrogant and a sensetionalist but doesn't know anything worth mentioning when it comes to performance tuning.

Excuse if I'm being a 'tard, but has the warning light error been fixed?

Yeah that was an exaggeration, my bad.

The exaggeration did not come from you.

We are testing it on the Stilo 2.4 at the moment. It does not look like it. But then we are dealing with 16 ECU variants on the least produced engine in a mass produced car.

Oldschool - i'm in the need for more speed :D

:bang::bang: Knew I should have left the kit on the car!

Ah, that makes more sense now. I knew that the new induction kit narrowed near the flowmeter and logic says that it should speed up the air, not slow it. All is right in the world again :D

So it sounds like the new 2.4 induction kit is sorted then with the narrowing and the warning light issue cured then. Lurvely (y) Really looking forward to hearing how Mr-Green gets on with the testing on his Abarth with the new induction and the remap... sounds so tasty I'm dribbling :D

Re: BMC CDA vs GSR Kit

greggers- i had the induction and re.map, and due to the masses of air the induction, many of us expirienced the engine light, but it was not a major issue, car went like stink!

It seems the engine light issue has been solved though, wasnt one on the bravo, and that uses a very similar set up. Just wish my car wasnt bein gay! :(
Ah well 3rd time lucky! Lol! ;D

I test drove mine with the kit on, and stink is right (y)- sounds incredible too. Was surprised in the difference when picked the car up minus the kit :bang:.

i recorded mine at just over 6.5 secs to 60:D:D:D

and got to 145 and still pulling, but i lost my bottle, i like my license:D

Re: BMC CDA vs GSR Kit

just to clarify, the above was on my mates ultra secret test track in eastern europe.
