Re: JTD Intercooler hose/sleeve

51754003 assume intercooler to turbo?, and not interested in 1 inches thanks just trying to help

Re: JTD Intercooler hose/sleeve

Is this to fix the whooshh you are getting bud. Thats what had happened to mine. Took it for a service and the garage fixed a sleeve to the intercooler pipe. Works a treat and car is silent again :D

Re: JTD Intercooler hose/sleeve

in the way the air flows there isnt an intercooler to turbo if iykwim. (picky i know but thats not why i mentioned it) im sure the pipe that had worn through on mine was intercooler to intake manifold?

it may be the other pipe on yours i just wouldnt want you ordering the wrong one. :)

No wories Frank, I had to let the dealer order/fit it as I couldn't source the part so for the princely sum of £194.00 I expect them to get this thing right but on the past 4 visit performances I am a little pessimistic. I will know tomorrow as it's been with them nearly a week for this hose thingy.

Re: JTD Intercooler hose/sleeve

took forever to find it on eper. until i realised it was staring me in the face. oh and you were right it is pipe between turbo and intercooler.

if they do repair it or you do it yourself you might also want to cut away the piece of undertray that sticks up the side so it doesnt rub through again. providing that is where the leak is i guess.

Re: JTD Intercooler hose/sleeve

yeah it did. but tbh it still does now and its repaired??! think its due to oil in the induction. going to fit an oil catch tank between breather pipe and induction then clean out the induction hoses and intercooler.

So have you lost the oil trap that normally sits under the air filter on the standard set-up?

I think this is quite important as it stops oil contamination of the MAF sensor for starters :chin:

i have a prototype gsr on my jtd so no oil trap. although when i took the oem off to fit the gsr the maf was covered in oil anyway and the oil trap was bone dry???

That does seem odd :chin:

My MAF is like new (and 5 years old) but I have noticed the rubber housing to the turbo gets quite oily so it looks like something is protecting it. I'm not afraid to red line it now and again either

Hissing JTD Turbo

Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered, had a good look but couldn't find anything Stilo specific.....

Anyhoo, The turbo hisses like an areosol when ever I hit the turbo revs, it's there in all gears but mainly 3rd. Seems to come from behind the glovebox!

Engine flutters occasionally, it's like when a car is cold.

Tonight I lost virtually all power and had to pull over as it wouldn't rev past about 2000. Waited 2 minutes and ok to get home.

It looks like it may be an intercooler pipe off or split? (generic googling).

My question is.....anyone tell me where these pipes are? and the turbo?

Are there any pics on the site you can maybe point me too?

Thanks guys/ladies hope you can help
:)

Re: Hissing JTD Turbo

Check pipes to from turbo, make sure secure and not split, pipes to intercooler, check actual intercooler not split, not sure about egr system on stilo but if pipe goes from egr to intercooler, make sure that not split. just a few pointers, not stilo specific as never worked on one but just a few i have come across before (y) hope this helps
